Grand Prize: A Trip to Guam. Play with Wheeebo AWARD - Seeking New Ways to Enjoy Water Activities! -

A new marine activity has been born, developed by Yanmar Co., Ltd., with the concept of "anyone can enjoy it freely and with excitement." It is called "Wheeebo."
Ahead of its full-scale service launch for the high season starting in 2020, a call for new ideas for "play" on the water, to be created by "Wheeebo," has begun, aiming to widely communicate the charm and world of "Wheeebo" to the public.

Among the submitted ideas, the Grand Prize winner will receive a round-trip pair ticket to Guam and a Wheeebo trial experience as a prize, the Advisor Award will receive a selection of premium market ingredients, and all award recipients will be given priority invitation to a camp to be held on Lake Biwa on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

During the application period, hands-on events will also be held in Tokyo and Kyoto to foster a deeper understanding of this award. We invite applications from professional creators, as well as those who enjoy thinking about games and play, and many people interested in marine activities. Check the AWRD website for details!

● Application Subject
We are seeking ideas for new "play" on the water using "Wheeebo."
We look forward to receiving creative ideas that expand communication between people and water.
1. Traditional Japanese Games... Games familiar to a wide range of generations, such as "Oshikura Manju" (pushing each other) and "Onigokko" (tag).
2. Regional Games... Games with local rules, such as "Daikon Nuki" (radish pulling) and "Kaidoro" (a type of tag).
3. World Games... Games not yet widely known in Japan, such as "Kabaddi" and "Kubb."
4. New Games... Games using the latest technology, such as VR and AR.
5. Games that don't feel like games... Activities like rolling around, where there are no rules but the body naturally moves.

● What is "Wheeebo"?
It is an electric circular board-shaped vehicle that can be steered simply by shifting your weight. When you lean in the opposite direction of where you want to go on the circular board, a sensor detects the tilt, and the motor and propeller drive allow you to enjoy moving on the water surface. While its operation is simple and intuitive, it requires a certain level of skill to master, offering a new and exciting experience for a wide range of users as an introduction to marine activities.
