Beginner-Friendly with a Guide: HOSHINOYA Fuji's Night Picnic

Autumn, with its clear air and pleasant climate, is an ideal season for moon viewing. However, the city lights at night are bright, leaving few places where one can enjoy the natural glow of the moon. It is in this context that HOSHINOYA Fuji has devised the "Fuji Moonlight Trekking" program, allowing guests to experience the true brilliance of the moon and the beauty of the night sky.

This program is exclusively offered on nights from a half moon to a full moon, aiming to heighten the senses and foster a deeper connection with nature through a night trek in the darkness. Accompanied by a professional guide, it is designed to be accessible even for beginners. As dusk settles, participants ascend towards the summit along a trail lined with susuki grass, reaching the peak at an altitude of 1,200 meters in approximately 30 minutes. Unlike daytime trekking, the darkness sharpens the senses beyond sight, allowing one to appreciate the crispness of the night air, the profound silence of the mountains, and the richness of the natural surroundings.

Upon reaching the summit, guests can unwind with stretching and meditation to ease any physical fatigue, followed by a relaxing time gazing at Mt. Fuji and Lake Yamanaka, silhouetted against the moonlight. A special seating area, prepared by the Glamping Master with comfortable rugs and sofas, will feature a variety of dishes, including colorful appetizers and braised venison. After the meal, guests can lounge on the sofas and fully immerse themselves in the magnificent scenery and moonlight.

Night trekking might seem daunting for beginners, but with a professional guide leading the way at each participant's pace, the experience is entirely accessible and reassuring. Furthermore, essential trekking gear such as hiking shoes and headlamps are included in the program, eliminating the need for any special preparation, which is a welcome convenience.
