Ocean Views and Suites in Every Room! HIYORI Ocean Resort Okinawa Offers a Proposal for Comfortable and Blissful Workations | TRAVEL
TRAVEL | HIYORI Ocean Resort Okinawa
With a Pool and Open-Air Bath, Live Like a Local in This Premium Condominium in Northern Okinawa Main Island
I want to enjoy a comfortable workation at a resort. I've discovered a new facility that fulfills just that wish. Let me introduce it without further ado. In March 2021, HIYORI Ocean Resort Okinawa opened in Onna Village, in the northern part of Okinawa Main Island.
Enjoy a Secluded Stay with Ocean Views from Every Room!
Onna Village, about a 50-minute drive from Naha Airport, is one of Okinawa Main Island's premier beach resorts. HIYORI Ocean Resort Okinawa is located on a hill 200 meters from the coastline of Onna Village, offering views of the emerald green East China Sea from most areas of the hotel.
Leveraging this location, all 204 guest rooms boast ocean views and feature suites with terraces. The moment you step into your room, you'll likely let out a sigh of admiration at the sight of the emerald green sea that greets you.
Even the smallest room (though they are all suites, mind you) has a floor area of 70 square meters (the room itself is about 56 square meters, but with the terrace, it totals around 70 square meters). The bedroom, living area, and terrace are arranged as if they flow seamlessly towards the sea, offering a sense of the extraordinary, akin to being at an overseas resort. The ability to partition the bedroom and living area with movable screens is also a plus. With power outlets available on the terrace, it's also recommended for those who want to focus on work.
The attention to detail is evident in the deep bass Bluetooth speaker and the ReFa hair dryer. The slippers were so plush I could have worn them all day. The beds are by Simmons, of course. Falling asleep without closing the curtains and waking up to the morning sun is a joy that never gets old.
The facility itself is a "condominium hotel." Each unit has an owner, and when not occupied by the owner, it's rented out as a hotel room. This system is perfectly suited for long stays, with amenities like a kitchen and a washing machine with a dryer. Pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery are also provided, allowing for simple home cooking.
A roadside station is located about a 5-minute drive from the resort, making it enjoyable to purchase local ingredients and cook. Oh, and the refrigerator was stocked with Orion beer, Sanpin tea, and Blue Seal ice cream, which I promptly enjoyed.
The public spaces are also well-appointed. The infinity pool, essential for any resort, seems to merge with the sea of Onna Village. It's even more refreshing than it looks in photos. Gazing at the horizon of the East China Sea while leaning against the edge of the pool is pure bliss.
The indoor pool, enjoyable regardless of weather or season, is another welcome feature. In the mornings, complimentary yoga and tai chi classes are offered to guests (the schedule varies by day). Starting the day by embracing the tropical morning sun with your entire body is a blissful experience unique to a resort.
Particularly noteworthy is the semi-open-air public bath, "Hiyori no Yu," which includes a sauna. The semi-open-air bath, of course, offers ocean views. Additionally, the men's bath features a dry sauna, while the women's bath has an aroma steam sauna. The ability to choose the water pressure for the shower is also excellent. The service that allows you to check the congestion status via the in-room TV is also very modern. A dedicated elevator for accessing the pool and public bath is a thoughtful touch.
There are other wonderful spots as well. My personal favorite is the area in front of the lobby. It also has large windows facing the sea, making it a very pleasant space.
The blue cushions, evoking the ocean, are sure to enhance the resort atmosphere. Though I have no proof, I am convinced that a good energy flows here. It seems like a place where work would also be productive! This is a resort I highly recommend to anyone looking to balance a workation with a resort lifestyle in Okinawa.
