HOSHINOYA Bali had temporarily closed its doors at the end of March 2020, prioritizing the safety of guests and staff and preventing the spread of COVID-19. In March 2021, the Ubud area in Gianyar Regency, where the resort is located, was designated by the Bali provincial government as a priority region for welcoming tourists. With vaccination efforts also progressing, HOSHINOYA Bali has now reopened.
HOSHINOYA Bali is situated in a valley above the sacred Pucrrisan River, a river steeped in Balinese mythology, on the eastern side of Ubud, Bali's cultural and artistic heartland. The resort comprises spaces that evoke Ubud's dynamic nature and artistic culture, including the "Cafe Gazebo" surrounded by tropical trees, villas with traditional crafts and poolside living areas, a long pool up to 70 meters accessible directly from each villa, and open-air dining areas. With only 30 guest rooms, it also offers a distinct sense of privacy.
Particularly noteworthy is the "Cafe Gazebo," built to jut out over the approximately 170-meter-deep valley. With the jungle stretching out before it, guests can feel a sense of unity with nature while enjoying a private space without concern for others. It is also a place to enjoy a picnic-style breakfast or light meal.
The spa, which guides guests toward healing through natural energy, offers profound relaxation and tranquility with techniques passed down through generations of Balinese people, the royal family's "Lulur" body scrub used before weddings, and oils made from Indonesian herbal ingredients such as rice flour and herbs.
