Guest Rooms Where Modern Technology Meets Elegance

The Peninsula Paris

The Peninsula Hotels began its history in Hong Kong in 1928. With its afternoon tea and sophisticated hospitality, it has captivated countless travelers. The Peninsula Paris, the first European venture for The Peninsula Hotels, inherits this tradition while embracing French culture to exude an atmosphere befitting a "Palace of the 21st Century."

The chosen location is in the heart of Paris, close to the Arc de Triomphe and within walking distance of famous museums and high-end shopping streets.

The building itself was originally constructed as the Majestic Hotel in 1908 and was cherished by global celebrities and cultural figures for 40 years. It later served as the UNESCO headquarters from 1946, and from 1958 to 2009, as a conference venue for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is a historic edifice where American composer George Gershwin composed "An American in Paris" in 1928, and where the "Paris Peace Accords" that led to the end of the Vietnam War were signed in 1973.

For this opening, the beautiful facade, a fusion of Haussmannian and Neoclassical styles, has been preserved. Modern technology has been integrated, and meticulous renovations have created spaces imbued with an elegance befitting the building. Furthermore, through the efforts of France's foremost artisans, who have also worked on restoring the Palace of Versailles and the Louvre Museum, traditional techniques passed down for centuries have been employed to restore the facade's brilliance and beauty in every detail.
