A New Kind of Activity, "Night Walk," for All Ages
The resort hotel on Nagasaki Prefecture's remote island of Iojima, formerly known as "Yuragi Iojima," has been renamed "i+Land nagasaki" and reborn as a new entertainment resort.
Along with "NAGI HOTEL" and "KAZE HOTEL," it offers a variety of activities such as SUP, sea kayaking, island cycling, beach yoga, and an all-weather BBQ garden.
The renewal also introduces "ISLAND LUMINA," an interactive multimedia night walk that harnesses digital art.
After sunset, a roughly 1km course emerges within the forest, filled with light and visuals created using cutting-edge technology. A story unfolds, inspired by the history and culture of Nagasaki Prefecture and Iojima Island, including the island's landmark lighthouse, creating a unique world where the island's nature merges with digital imagery. This night walk is the sixth installation of the "LUMINA" series created by the digital art collective "MOMENT FACTORY," based in Canada, and marks its first appearance in Japan.
New facilities and accommodation areas are set to open in July 2018, including the addition of a cottage (lodge) area. In addition to stays for couples, families, and friends, cottages that allow guests to bring their pets are also planned. This destination is poised to become a highly sought-after spot, catering to a diverse range of needs.
