Returning This Year! Chanel Pygmalion Days Classical Concerts
The "Chanel Pygmalion Days Classical Concerts," offering performance opportunities to young musicians, will be held again this year at the Chanel Nexus Hall in Ginza, inspired by the spirit of Chanel founder Gabrielle Chanel, who supported artists in their early careers. Solo concerts by five artists will take place throughout the year until December.

"Pygmalion" originates from Greek mythology, signifying belief in talent, support, and its blossoming. Gabrielle Chanel was a "Pygmalion" who supported and nurtured the talents of then-unknown figures such as Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau, Igor Stravinsky, Raymond Radiguet, and Luchino Visconti.
To carry on her spirit into the present day, the "Chanel Pygmalion Days Classical Concerts" are held annually, providing a stage for young artists to perform solo. Now in its ninth year, the project welcomes five emerging artists: violinists Yuichiro Fukuda, Haruka Nagao, and Kiyoka Chiba, pianist Yuna Kobayashi, and tenor Kohei Yamamoto.
The concerts run from January to December, with the January performances already concluded to great acclaim. Those wishing to attend can apply via the website for a chance to be selected by lottery. Applications are currently open for a total of six performances in March.
The "Chanel Pygmalion Days Classical Concerts" offer a glimpse into the journey of young musicians as they grow with each performance. It is an opportunity to witness and experience their artistic development firsthand, as a supporter of their Pygmalion-like journey.
