A Rare Opportunity to Appreciate Diverse Artworks from Home
Digital versions of six exhibition catalogues, previously only available at Chanel Nexus Hall, will be released monthly as a limited-time series starting in November 2020. The full catalogues, including artwork images and contributions from artists and curators, can be viewed online.
The first release in the series is the catalogue for the exhibition "In Situ" by photographer Pierre-Elie de Pibrac, held this year at Chanel Nexus Hall and as part of KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival. The three-part exhibition, capturing the backstage world of mythical dancers and the grandeur of the Palais Garnier, will be available until Thursday, December 10.
Following this, from Friday, December 11, 2020, to Thursday, January 7, 2021, the exhibition "TRANSMISSIONS people-to-people" by Italian photographers Tiziana & Gianni Baldizzone, which tells the stories of artisans passing down traditional crafts, will be presented. From Friday, January 8, to Thursday, February 4, 2021, works by renowned French photographer Raymond Depardon, capturing Tokyo during the 1964 Olympics and in 2016, will be shown in "DEPARDON / TOKYO 1964-2016."
Furthermore, from Friday, February 5, to Thursday, March 4, 2021, don't miss "INBOX HYBRIDIZATION (IN LOVE)," an exhibition of paintings by Enki Bilal, a leading figure in French bande dessinée whose work has significantly influenced contemporary visual and comic art.
From Friday, March 5, to Thursday, April 1, 2021, the exhibition "Retrace our Steps" by young photography duo Carlos Ayesta & Guillaume Bresson, which uses a fusion of documentary and art to depict the no-man's-land of the Fukushima nuclear disaster zone, will be featured. The finale will be "D’un jour à l’autre" by celebrated international female photographer Sarah Moon, a curated selection of her works on the theme of the passage of time. This will be an opportunity for both past visitors and newcomers to slowly explore diverse artworks, accompanied by artist contributions and curator commentaries.
