This time, we move from new house tracks hinting at a 90s revival and techno brimming with boogie feelings, through underground disco and jazz funk, into black pop, ultimately arriving at soulful house music.
Titled 'RETRO MEETS MODERN.' It's quite literal, as you can see (laughs).
This flow, starting with the latest releases and moving to older tracks before returning to new music, is a common technique in my DJ sets. However, finding common ground between contemporary sounds and those that have stood the test of time, or presenting older music with a modern sensibility, is not my exclusive domain. I believe it's one of the defining abilities of a DJ. Regardless, setting aside the serious talk, the most important thing is to have fun listening, effortlessly crossing eras, borders, and genres. I want to make sure I don't forget that.
