Mick Jagger Steps In as Producer

James Brown, who dominated the music scene for half a century from the 1950s to the 2000s, influencing countless artists like Michael Jackson and Prince, is now the subject of a film. His tumultuous life, marked by breaking industry conventions, forging new paths, and creating history, has been brought to the screen.

The film's realization was driven by Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones, who had admired James Brown since his early days. Jagger took on the role of producer, with Tate Taylor, known for films like "The Help," directing. The production brought together a team united by profound respect for James Brown, often called the “Godfather of Soul.”

Chadwick Boseman portrays James Brown. His uncanny resemblance in movement, his distinctive Southern drawl, and even his singing style are masterfully recreated, transforming the cinema into a live concert venue.
