Toshio Matsuura DJ Schedule
Every third Friday of the month at DJ Bar Bridge Shinjuku.
This is the only regular late-night slot in my ongoing activities. Together with Dazzle Drums, my favorite DJ/producer duo,
we open the doors at 8 PM and welcome guests. It's nice to slowly enjoy a drink with music from early on. As the night deepens,
people come and go, and the atmosphere gradually changes. It's also nice to savor that transition until the very end.

It was in 2016, at a beach party for Worldwide Festival Sete, that Toshio Matsuura's DJ set captivated me.
In 2019, HEART, the predecessor to Bridge Shinjuku, opened, and a regular DJ slot became a reality. It's been nearly seven years since then,
and this party has finally been given a name. For us, who have always wanted to avoid being confined by genre or four-on-the-floor music, Matsuura-san's free and boundless
passion for music and uncompromising attitude are a guiding light that expands our musical possibilities. Furthermore, the ebb and flow of interest shown by everyone who gathers here
always steers the DJ's course, creating delightful surprises. It's a crucial element.
We navigate through the darkness, aiming for a landscape that moves the soul in the vast ocean of music.
The DJ keeps paddling, sometimes with all their might.
So that we can all arrive at a memorable night together.

In 1990, he formed United Future Organization (U.F.O.), releasing five full albums in 32 countries to critical acclaim. After beginning his solo career in 2002, he has performed as a DJ at clubs and festivals both domestically and internationally. He also produces events and curates music for highly attuned lifestyle spots, including hotels, international brands, and Michelin-starred restaurants.
In 2013, he launched "HEX," a project disseminating current jazz, releasing the album "HEX" worldwide via Blue Note Records. In 2018, he released an album for his new project "TOSHIO MATSUURA GROUP," featuring young British musicians. In 2026, this work is scheduled for re-release to mark the 20th anniversary of Brownswood Recordings.

Founding member of United Future Organization (U.F.O.) which was formed in 1990.
The collective established the beginning of Japanese club culture, and released
5 full albums in 32 countries which gained high reputation in 12 years.
After leaving U.F.O. in 2002, he has continued to play as a solo dj at clubs and festivals
internationally and currently produces events and supervises music for notable fashion brands.
He also has produced many remix works of artist in a wide range of genres,
such as James Brown, Astor Piazzolla, Gotan Project, Melanie De Biasio, etc.
In 2013, he gathered talented and forward-thinking artists based in Tokyo to produce
a project called “HEX,” which presents Tokyo’s progressive form of Jazz to the world.
The debut album “HEX” was released from Blue Note Records worldwide.
Recently, his new project "Toshio Matsuura Group" gathered radical musicians from UK
and album was released from Brownswood Recordings 2018.
In 2026, the album is scheduled for re-release to mark the 20th anniversary of Brownswood Recordings.
