Public Viewing of Chaplin's Masterpieces and More

Star Channel (BS10ch) will hold a public viewing event, "BS10 LIVE! Star Channel Film Festival," on Saturday, October 11th, at the Urban Dock LaLaport Toyosu, 1F Seaside Deck.

On the day of the expanded free broadcast of "BS10 It’s SHOW time," which delivers the latest entertainment news and information on new theatrical releases, this event will feature public viewings of films and international dramas being broadcast that day, along with a live, on-air broadcast hosted by "BS10 It’s SHOW time" MCs Kon Arimura and Natsuko Aso.

The event will screen a lineup of acclaimed works, including "The Kid" (dubbed) starring the comedic genius Chaplin, celebrating his 100th year in film, and the live-action adaptation of the anime classic "THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR / Chapter 1." Also featured will be "TRUE DETECTIVE," "GIRLS," and other highly anticipated titles, broadcast in conjunction with Star Channel's programming.

Two Highly Anticipated HBO Dramas to Be Screened This Autumn

Particularly noteworthy are "TRUE DETECTIVE" and "GIRLS." Both are highly anticipated productions from HBO, the American cable network behind "SEX AND THE CITY" and "Game of Thrones."


"TRUE DETECTIVE" is a crime suspense drama starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. McConaughey, known for his transformative performance in "Dallas Buyers Club," where he lost 20 kilograms to portray an HIV patient, earned critical acclaim and won the Academy Award for Best Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama, solidifying his status as one of today's most compelling actors.

"GIRLS" is a next-generation 'girl power' film that captures the painfully honest reality of 20-something women in New York, with its relatable characters earning widespread empathy from viewers. The characters in the series often wear fast fashion and vintage pieces, such as items from "H&M" and "TOPSHOP," or remade vintage clothing, reflecting the actual styles of women in their twenties. Many international websites feature detailed character analyses alongside their fashion wardrobes.
