Trailer Unveiled, Celebrating the Wonders of Japanese Cuisine
The culinary documentary 'The Chef Who Loved the World,' which was screened in the Culinary Cinema section of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival, will be released in Japan.
The film follows Eneko Atxa, a genius chef who became the youngest in Spanish history to earn three Michelin stars, as he seeks the true essence and soul of cooking. This time, his quest for culinary excellence leads him to Japan, visiting renowned establishments including 'Sukiyabashi Jiro.'
In his relentless pursuit of true cuisine, Eneko's search for what constitutes the ultimate dish and the soul that should be infused within it led him to Japan's 'washoku.' The film delves into the dedication of Jiro Ono, the proprietor of 'Sukiyabashi Jiro'—the world's most senior three-Michelin-star chef—and reveals the ultimate culinary insights Eneko gained from Japan's celebrated restaurants.
The film features not only Mr. Ono but also Japanese chefs dedicated to 'washoku,' Eneko Atxa, and chefs from world-class restaurants in Spain and France, capturing their passionate reflections on cuisine.
Carme Ruscalleda of 'Sant Pau,' the first woman in Spain to earn three Michelin stars, and the legendary French chef Joël Robuchon, who holds the record for the most Michelin stars worldwide, share their creative secrets and speak of the magnificence of Japanese cuisine.
The newly released trailer shows Eneko Atxa heading to 'Tokyo, the city with the most Michelin-starred restaurants in the world,' in his quest for the soul of cooking. It also features captivating footage of Jiro Ono, famed for 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi,' expertly preparing sushi. The array of spectacular dishes prepared by these master chefs is enough to make anyone's mouth water.
