Sun Frontier Real Estate has launched the "START-UP FRONTIER TOKYO" project with the goal of making Tokyo the world's easiest city for startups. As a kickoff event for the project, the pitch contest "FRONTIER PITCH TOKYO for Startups 2023," themed "The Future of Japan in 10 Years We Want to Realize," will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023.

In the 1980s, when Japan was called "Japan as No.1," leading global companies emerged from Japan, and seven Japanese companies ranked among the world's top 10 by market capitalization. Tokyo was a hub for "people, goods, capital, and information" from around the world. As of 2022, no Japanese companies are in the top 10 global market capitalization rankings, and eight of the top 10 companies are startups founded after the bubble burst.

Sun Frontier Real Estate develops various businesses with the concept of "solving social issues through real estate to contribute to the evolution and development of local communities." As an initiative to support the growth of startups from their founding (seed/early stage) to their expansion (middle stage), the company aims to foster further growth by reducing challenges at each stage of office environment development.

Sun Frontier Real Estate has launched the "START-UP FRONTIER TOKYO" project in collaboration with multiple venture capital firms and startup support companies. This project aims to create an environment suitable for startup growth, under the theme of "making Tokyo the world's easiest city for startups."

To build the future of Japan for the next 20 and 50 years, we will support startups in five key areas.

① Human
Leading the startup ecosystem's networking through regular offline events for startups. Contributing to diversity in business by attracting highly skilled foreign talent and global mega-startups to Japan.

② Fund
Broad consortium collaboration beyond traditional boundaries with a group of venture capital firms managing over 100 billion yen in total funds, making it one of the largest in Japan, including Sun Frontier.

③ Information
Enhancing the mentoring program for young entrepreneurs. Additionally, providing full support for Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives with large corporations.

④ Chance
Creating new business growth opportunities through engagement with government bodies and collaboration with other companies. Providing opportunities for new work styles through workations in partnership with hotels.

⑤ PLACE
Sun Frontier Real Estate offers innovative real estate leasing solutions to foster startup growth, such as "0 deposit, 0 restoration cost," "WEEK," and "rent payment flexibility." Furthermore, through the development of co-working spaces for early-stage startups in collaboration with venture capital firms and the utilization of project-specific lounge and bar spaces, we continue to support startups, starting with the provision of 'PLACE'.

As a kickoff event for the project, the pitch contest "FRONTIER PITCH TOKYO for Startups 2023," themed "The Future of Japan in 10 Years We Want to Realize," will be held on September 15 (Friday).

This event invites pitch proposals from startups poised to lead Japan's future society and economy, centered on the theme "The Future of Japan in 10 Years We Want to Realize." The judging criteria include vision (passion), business model (marketability), originality/novelty, feasibility, and creativity. Eight startups that passed the preliminary screening will present their pitches at the main event. The top-ranking companies will receive a one-year complimentary use of a setup office to support their growth.
