"Let's support the children of Tohoku through the running we love!" says DJToshio Matsuurawho launched the charity project "Run for Children Tohoku." With the support of Adidas, he has hosted a charity run every year since 2012.The Great East Japan Earthquakewill soon be three years ago. This year, on Sunday, March 9th, a charity run will be held at the running facility "adidas RUNBASE" and around the Imperial Palace.

Enjoying Together, United in Spirit
It has been almost three years since the Great East Japan Earthquake. An unprecedented disaster that claimed countless precious lives and devastated communities. It also mercilessly robbed children of their "everyday lives."
I learned about a support fund dedicated to the psychological care of children affected by the disaster, and to helping them regain the simple joys of "playing" and "learning." This is the Hatachi Fund, whose mission is "to support children until they turn twenty, from when they were infants at the time of the earthquake."
"Run for Children Tohoku" is a project born from this encounter with the Hatachi Fund. Through one full marathon, two charity runs, and the sale of original T-shirts, we have raised donations and given form to the fading memory of the earthquake and our thoughts for the affected regions.
And this year, with the cooperation of Adidas, we are pleased to announce the charity running event "Run for Children Tohoku at adidas RUNBASE," inviting OPENERS readers to participate.

On the day, we will run the 5km course around the Imperial Palace, divided into teams for one lap and two laps. Whether you've participated every year or are new to running, let's enjoy it together, united in spirit, as we approach the third anniversary of the earthquake.

Participation Fee: ¥2,000 and up
*The entire amount will be donated to the "Hatachi Fund."
*Facility usage on the day is free of charge.
*All participants will receive a special T-shirt.
