Yoshihiro Maruwaka's "Travel Tales" with Guests: A Companion's Treasure
Accompanying Objects
A Journey of Objects with Maruwaka and His Guests
Meet Kosaku Maruwaka, representative of Maruwakaya, a producer of products that fuse traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. He hosts this new series where a different guest each episode brings an object that accompanies them on their travels, and they discuss journeys. Supporting this series is "ThreeBond," a manufacturer of industrial sealants and adhesives, who believes that "travel has the power to connect people. This can be the bond between travel companions, or the bond between travelers and local residents."—This is the philosophy that drives the company.
*The title "Dogyo Ippin" (Accompanying Objects) is inspired by the Shikoku Pilgrimage term "Dogyo Ninin" (Two Companions). It refers to a phrase written on items like a sedge hat, signifying that one is always accompanied by Kobo Daishi during the pilgrimage. The title expresses the idea that a person's journey is defined by the select objects they bring along.—This is the image we aim to convey.
