Special Item no.1

Lightening the Runner's Stride
The Next-Generation Running Shoe from adidas

A running shoe from adidas, set for simultaneous worldwide release on Wednesday, February 27th, is currently generating buzz. This latest model, named "energy boost," is a masterpiece developed under the philosophy of founder Adolf Dassler: "To provide the best shoe for all athletes." It uniquely combines two seemingly contradictory functions: absorbing impact when the foot hits the ground and returning that energy. Utilizing the new material "BOOST™ foam" for the first time in the world, it delivers a running experience that defies conventional understanding.

For this charity run, the latest running shoes will also be available at the "adidas RUNBASE," the meeting point (Note: quantities are limited. Thank you for your understanding). Participants can experience their performance firsthand. These shoes will undoubtedly make the runners' strides lighter and propel them forward as they run with wishes for the swift recovery of the disaster-stricken regions.

Special Item no.2

Hoping for a Bright Future
A Special T-Shirt Designed by Yoshihiro Sugawara from Sendai

Sendai, the largest city in the Tohoku region, also suffered significant damage from the Great East Japan Earthquake, with approximately 30,000 buildings completely destroyed and 110,000 partially damaged (as of November 30, 2012, according to the city). Graphic designer Yoshihiro Sugawara, who was born and raised in Sendai, is contributing to this charity run. As a friend of DJ Toshio Matsuura, he designed a special T-shirt not only for his hometown but also for the bright future of Tohoku, which is still undergoing reconstruction. The T-shirt is scheduled to be distributed to all participants on the event day.

Special T-shirt designed by Yoshihiro Sugawara

The design will be a surprise until the day of the event!

"I was born and raised in Tohoku. Although I live in Tokyo now, I designed this with my hometown in mind, imagining the future of the children growing up there. I was once one of them. The future will surely move in a positive direction. This T-shirt is filled with that hope. I believe the thoughts of Mr. Matsuura and everyone involved will surely reach the children of Tohoku. As someone from Tohoku, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in this project."

We hope you will transform Mr. Sugawara's sentiments, etched onto the T-shirt, into your running stride and deliver them on Sunday, March 10th, for the bright future of your hometown that awaits beyond reconstruction.
