Of course, David Lynch is the enigmatic filmmaker behind masterpieces such as "The Elephant Man," "Twin Peaks," and "Mulholland Drive." It's no exaggeration to say he is one of the last great masters. Yet, in recent years, he has been actively pursuing his art through painting and drawing, and in 2011, he even debuted as a singer-songwriter, singing the blues with a guitar in hand. His creativity continues to unfold in diverse ways, even now at the age of 66.
And Dom Pérignon is a champagne of the highest caliber, steeped in a profound history. Its origins trace back to the 17th century, named after the monk Dom Pierre Pérignon, who dedicated his life to crafting the world's finest wines. His passion for creation, hailed as the "father of champagne," is still carried on today as the brand's spirit, embodied in the slogan "The Power of Creation."
How exactly would these two entities collaborate—? How would their "power of creation" manifest? An event to reveal just that was held in Los Angeles.
The venue was "Milk Studios" in Los Angeles, a studio renowned globally in recent years as a cutting-edge hotspot. At the entrance, Dom Pérignon's aroma already filled the air, with champagne-bubble-like smoke enveloping the guests. Stepping inside, shields that formed shapes with light emerged from the darkness. As if in a Lynch film, we moved towards this light.
As the gate opened, we entered a space that recreated Lynch's studio. For this collaboration, Lynch first created the visual creative for Dom Pérignon. Flashes of light, champagne bottles, and glamorous yet mysterious visual effects—it was unmistakably Lynch's world, yet imbued with an unparalleled sense of luxury, presenting a refreshingly novel image.

As the space filled and anticipation reached its peak, David Lynch made his entrance, breaking the atmosphere. The entrance buzzed, and Lynch proceeded forward, accompanied by Richard Geoffroy, Dom Pérignon's Chef de Cave. Their figures were broadcast on the large screen via live feed. With all eyes fixed on the entrance, Lynch approached the counter and signed the oversized Jeroboam bottles (3 liters) of Blanc and Rosé displayed there. These Jeroboam bottles were also designed by Lynch, and he himself marked his collaboration with Dom Pérignon with his signature.

Lynch, exuding an overwhelming presence and a mischievous smile, posed with Dom Pérignon behind him. Celebrities associated with Lynch, such as Laura Harring from "Mulholland Drive," joined him. The sound of shutters and waves of flashes never ceased, attesting to the high level of interest in this collaboration between the legendary film director and Dom Pérignon.
Suddenly, a deafening roar echoed through the venue. The Kills, a rock band featuring Jamie Hince on guitar and Alison Mosshart on vocals, took the stage. Their performance was captivating, leveraging loud guitars and vocals that were both hard and lovely. It was unexpected to witness The Kills perform here. Later, it was revealed that the choice of The Kills was not only David Lynch's preference but also that of Chef de Cave Richard Geoffroy. Lynch's mysterious aura, Dom Pérignon's intoxication, and The Kills' excitement—it was a night that left a strong impression with each element.
Dom Pérignon's "Vintage 2003" and "Rosé Vintage 2000," with bottles and gift boxes designed by David Lynch, will be available in stores starting this autumn. Incidentally, the extra-large Jeroboam bottles (3 liters) that Lynch personally signed on this night—there are only 10 limited editions worldwide for both Blanc and Rosé, with Japan receiving only one bottle of the Blanc.
