Limited-Edition Cocktails by Renowned Hong Kong Bartender Arrive at THE BOTANIST
A pop-up bar featuring "The Botanist," a gin from Scotland, was held for two days only, January 30th (Thursday) and 31st (Friday), 2020, at ANA InterContinental Tokyo's "MIXX Bar & Lounge." Four original cocktails created by renowned Hong Kong bartender Samuel Kwok were served. Three of these will be available at "MIXX Bar & Lounge" until March 31st (Tuesday).

"The Botanist": Born from Wild Botanicals of Islay, Scotland
"The Botanist" is known as a gin crafted with 22 types of wild botanicals hand-picked from Scotland's Islay island, respecting the island's terroir.
This premium item, meticulously distilled by artisans, can be considered a pioneer of the craft gin boom that has taken the world by storm in recent years. It is highly regarded not only by gin and cocktail enthusiasts but also by Scotch whisky lovers.
Samuel Kwok, who visited Japan for this event, began his career as a bartender at the age of 18. After becoming the bar manager at Hong Kong's acclaimed "Quinary," he led the bar to be selected as one of "The World's 50 Best Bars" for three consecutive years. He was also named among Hong Kong's Top 25 Bartenders by the Asian bar culture magazine "Drinks World Asia" and represented Hong Kong in the international competition "World Class 2017." He is a popular bartender whose creative vision is widely admired.
The four cocktails he devised for "A NIGHT WITH SAMUEL KWOK Presented by THE BOTANIST GIN" pop-up bar include the photogenic "EARL GREY MARTINI," "WHITE TEA TREE," and "SAMURAI REVIVER," which can be enjoyed until March 31st (Tuesday). This is an opportunity to sample and compare their distinct flavors.
