Krug Grand Cuvée "170 Edition" Launch Celebrated with Music Pairing Event and Limited Gift Box
Prestige Champagne House Krug is hosting an immersive sound experience pop-up event, "KRUG STUDIO," where guests can savor the pairing of Krug Champagne and music. The event will be held at Roppongi Hills Grand Roof Plaza until Saturday, June 25, 2022. Furthermore, to commemorate the launch of the new Krug Grand Cuvée edition, "170 Edition," a "KRUG ECHOES Limited Gift Box" that allows enjoyment of music pairing at home is now available in limited quantities at the TERRADA WINE online store and select department stores.
Experience the World of Prestige Champagne at Roppongi Hills
Since its founding in 1843, the prestige Champagne House Krug has maintained a deep connection with music, believing that resonant sounds and flavors perceived on the palate resonate with each other. In recent years, this relationship has been formalized as "KRUG ECHOES," a project that expresses Krug Champagne and its charms through music. This immersive sound experience event allows visitors to discover new facets of Krug through music and Champagne pairings.
Krug's first pop-up event in Japan, "KRUG STUDIO," is open at Roppongi Hills Grand Roof Plaza until Saturday, June 25, 2022. Within the venue, where music is curated by Belgian composer Ozark Henry, guests can taste the new "170 Edition" of Krug Grand Cuvée and experience an immersive 15-minute music pairing. The grand music, played in 360 degrees from Phantom speakers by Krug's official audio partner, Devialet, along with visuals depicting Krug's world and its winemaking philosophy, invite participants on a journey tracing the birth story of the "170 Edition."

Additionally, the "KRUG ECHOES Limited Gift Box" allows you to enjoy "KRUG ECHOES" at home. By scanning the QR code printed on the playful box, adorned with musical score patterns in Krug's iconic dark cherry color, you can experience the music pairing on the spot. This limited box is
available at TERRADA WINE online storeand select department stores in limited quantities.
Krug Grand Cuvée "170 Edition" is a blend of 195 wines from 12 different years, with the youngest from 2014 and the oldest from 1998. Composed of 51% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay, and 11% Meunier, it expresses a diversity of aromas and achieves a unique elegance and maturity through at least seven years of aging in Krug's cellars.
The aroma evokes blooming flowers, ripe citrus fruits, marzipan, and gingerbread, while the palate offers complex nuances of grilled almond paste, quince, lemon, limoncello, and dried fruits. The 170 Edition has an even more refreshing mouthfeel than usual. Nevertheless, the finish is long, resulting in an outstanding creation that allows one to fully appreciate the Krug character.
