Nespresso, known for its capsule coffees and dedicated coffee makers, has launched "La Cumplida Refinada," a limited edition capsule coffee for its "Original" and "Vertuo" lines, as part of its "Master Origins" series, born from exceptional craftsmanship.

Joining the "Single Origin" philosophy of using beans exclusively from one country, "La Cumplida Refinada" has arrived as a limited edition within the "Master Origins" series. This series features unique coffees crafted by artisans worldwide using distinct local refinement methods.

Launched in 2018, "Nicaragua" has since established itself as a staple coffee. "La Cumplida Refinada," considered its second chapter, uses Arabica Maragogipe coffee cherries cultivated on the same farm as "Nicaragua." The key difference lies in Nespresso's newly developed, proprietary fermentation process.

The high-sugar, ripe coffee cherries, hand-picked one by one, are infused with yeast and fermented for 72 hours to fully develop their flavors. This is followed by a meticulous 2-3 week drying process, resulting in a wild, fruity aroma reminiscent of candied cherries and pomegranate, an unparalleled smoothness, and a sweet taste.

Furthermore, the development of "La Cumplida Refinada" also serves as a project demonstrating the shared value between Nespresso and Nicaragua's agricultural regeneration efforts, aiming to support local coffee-growing communities by creating employment for a sustainable future. While 20 coffee farms in the La Cumplida region have already contributed to preserving coffee cherries and agroforestry, this project has generated hundreds of new jobs in the region, including those for harvesting, fermentation, drying, and the construction of necessary warehouses.

Nespresso is further committed to protecting the environment surrounding coffee production in Nicaragua by planting approximately 100,000 native trees, striving for both sustainability and high-quality coffee production.
