Born in 1815 on the Scottish island of Islay, Ardbeg is the world's peatiest and smokiest single malt. It is cherished by whisky fans worldwide as an ultimate Islay malt with a fierce, unconventional character.

While whisky is often judged by its age, each cask has its own peak of maturation, and the ideal aging period varies depending on the desired flavor. In particular, smokiness tends to mellow into the whisky as it ages, and younger whiskies are said to have a more pronounced smoky character.

The newly released "Wee Beastie" means "a small but fierce, untamable little monster" in Scots. Matured for five years in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, it leverages its youthful age to deliver an Islay malt with a pronounced smoky character. From the moment it's poured, intense notes of crushed black pepper, resinous pine sap, and powerful peat smoke arise. On the palate, a burst of smokiness reminiscent of chocolate, creosote, and tar unfolds, followed by a lingering finish of savory meat and sea salt.
