A Collaboration Bottle Adorned in the House's Signature "Pesca Chiara" Hue

Veuve Clicquot, a house that has long led innovation in Champagne, particularly its founder, Madame Clicquot, was a great woman who brought numerous innovations to Champagne production. She revolutionized the method of making "rosé Champagne." She established the technique of blending red and white wines to create a vibrant pink color and a profound flavor. This challenging and creative spirit continues to be inherited by the house today.
The collaboration between Veuve Clicquot's "La Grande Dame Rosé 2015" and Paola Paronetto, announced this time, is a collaboration bottle that merges the colors of Champagne with art.
Paola Paronetto is a contemporary artist from Italy, known for her works that skillfully utilize color. She is acclaimed as a "master of color" for bringing her works to life by uniquely blending 82 different colors. Veuve Clicquot's innovative spirit is inherited in "La Grande Dame Rosé 2015," to which Paronetto's chromatic beauty is added, giving birth to a new artistic expression.
In this collaboration, Paola Paronetto expressed Madame Clicquot's passion and aesthetic sensibility by incorporating natural light into her works made from "paper clay." The newly designed gift box harmonizes with the beautiful hue of the rosé Champagne, embodying a luxurious experience for both sight and taste.
Paola Paronetto states about this bottle, "I chose a delicate and vibrant color called 'Pesca Chiara.' It's a subtle pink that artistically expresses the precise and structured character of this cuvée. At its heart are touches of sun-like yellow, adding a bright accent to the La Grande Dame collection."
"La Grande Dame Rosé 2015" was created by Veuve Clicquot's Cellar Master, Didier Mariotti. Notably, it includes 13% Pinot Noir harvested from "Clos Colin" in Bouzy, a Grand Cru vineyard in the Champagne region. This adds depth and complexity from the red wine, giving the Champagne its richness.
Furthermore, "La Grande Dame Rosé 2015" is composed of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, a blend that creates the Champagne's characteristic structure and harmony. Aged for over seven years, its flavor deepens while retaining its freshness. The 2015 vintage, with its low rainfall and abundant sunshine, is excellent in concentration and structure, highlighting the precision and depth of the Pinot Noir.
The flavor harmoniously blends spicy notes of pepper, nutmeg, and clove with floral nuances of red berries, rose, and violet. Upon tasting, a pure and smooth texture spreads across the palate, revealing the Champagne's complexity and elegance. This rosé Champagne, in particular, is rich in aroma yet never overwhelming, leaving a refined finish.
Its delicate flavor pairs exquisitely with seasonal local ingredients. It is particularly outstanding with mineral-rich dishes, as well as those seasoned with iodine and salt. This Champagne is also well-suited for gastronomic pairings; its charm is further enhanced when served with lightly seasoned grilled lamb, roasted tuna, or marinated octopus.
The collaboration with Paola Paronetto offers a luxurious experience in both color and taste, delighting both visually and gustatorily. It is a bottle that Champagne enthusiasts will surely want to acquire.
Paola Paronetto
Born in Pordenone, Italy, in 1965, she studied the principles of ceramic techniques in Umbria and Tuscany, and was immediately captivated by clay. After extensive technical research and experimentation with numerous methods and materials, she chose paper pulp. This resulted in the creation of her rich sculptural series: the "Cartocci Collection." The production process is lengthy and labor-intensive, and these unique works are exhibited in high-end stores and galleries worldwide, including in Italy. Over more than 30 years of dedicated exploration, she has developed her own interpretations and worldviews of ancient ceramic techniques, various Raku firing methods, and currently, porcelain and paper clay.
