Champagne and Art: Creativity Connected by Nature

Dom Pérignon launched its new creative campaign, “The Creative is a Never-Ending Journey,” in May 2025. In addition to Takashi Murakami, seven creators are participating in this project, including actress Zoë Kravitz, Michelin three-star chef Clare Smyth, actress Tilda Swinton, choreographer Alexander Ekman, artist Anderson .Paak, and musician Iggy Pop.

Since 2005, Dom Pérignon has engaged in collaborations with renowned creators such as Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Karl Lagerfeld, Jeff Koons, David Lynch, and Lenny Kravitz.

This collaboration bottle features a design inspired by the “flower,” a motif symbolic of Takashi Murakami’s artistic world. The traditional depiction of the vineyard, usually found on the shield, has been replaced by a fantastical floral landscape. The dynamic, pop, and vibrantly colored bottle is sure to delight the viewer.

His unique visual language, “Superflat,” is a method of reinterpreting the flatness and minimal lines of traditional Japanese art within contemporary culture. This resonates with Dom Pérignon’s creative process, which seeks new harmony based on the maison’s history for each vintage.

A fantastical floral landscape adorns the jet-black bottle and gift box. When placed side-by-side, the gift boxes can also be enjoyed as a “floral tableau.”

Two types of limited editions are available: “Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 Takashi Murakami Limited Edition” and “Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010 Takashi Murakami Limited Edition.”

The “Vintage 2015” is characterized by its robust flavor, born from climatic conditions with strong contrasts between warm and cool days. Alongside rich nuances of toasted notes, deep cacao, and dried fruits, it offers fruity aromas reminiscent of orange peel and papaya. The palate presents powerful peach and nectarine fruitiness, balanced by subtle bitterness from citrus and ginger.

Meanwhile, the “Rosé Vintage 2010” achieves a harmonious balance, representing the culmination of 10 years of Pinot Noir winemaking. Its aroma is centered on red fruits, with notes of brioche, toast, and citrus accents. The supple texture and contrasting elements create a remarkable harmony, unifying the taste experience.

Regarding this collaboration, Murakami commented, “Through my collaboration with Dom Pérignon, I wanted to express a kind of time travel. I want to be something that holds meaning and transcends time, 100 or 200 years from now. I hope that when people in the future see this label, aged over time, long after I and my children are gone, they will be able to imagine the year 2025 in their hearts.”

A Champagne maison and a contemporary artist. Though seemingly active in different fields, “nature” is a common thread at the root of their creativity. The collaboration between the two, who sublimate nature into bottles and artworks through their respective creative perspectives, can be considered inevitable.
