The Second Plénitude: Peak Transformative Energy

Dom Pérignon undergoes three stages of maturation, known as plénitudes. The first plénitude occurs after at least eight years, while the second plénitude emerges after a minimum of 16 years. At this stage, the wine's power is fully revealed, expressing its profound depth and breadth of flavor. The third plénitude requires at least 25 years, with these three transformations culminating in its ultimate completion.

The newly released "Dom Pérignon P2-1998" is a masterpiece from the second plénitude, crafted exclusively from the highest quality grapes harvested in 1998. The "P2" in the product name signifies its arrival at the second plénitude, where its transformative energy reaches its zenith.

This particular year was marked by extreme climatic variations, yielding a very small harvest. Furthermore, a decision was made to delay the harvest due to persistent cloud cover and rain, ultimately resulting in the successful gathering of healthily ripened, exceptional grapes.

The tasting notes reveal a powerful, full-bodied aroma and a creamy texture that can almost be savored. The bottle features a new label design adorned with a tone-on-tone crest. It is presented in a satin-finished aluminum gift box and is priced at ¥50,000.
