Arabica Kyoto Managed by a Next-Generation Barista Champion
Katsunori Shoji, the owner of % Arabica Coffee Roaster & Farm, brings a unique background, having traveled to over 60 countries. The roastery, specializing in meticulously selected beans, was established in Hong Kong in 2012.
To ensure the highest quality coffee, the company owns a coffee farm in Kona, on the western side of the Big Island of Hawaii, while also trading beans from around the globe. They are also recognized as a comprehensive coffee trading company, serving as the Japanese and Hong Kong distributor for Slayer, considered the world's finest espresso machine, and as the overseas exporter for Tornado King, a Japanese-made roaster.
Driven by a desire to create a world-class Japanese coffee brand, % Arabica Coffee Roaster & Farm opened its first Japanese flagship store, % Arabica Kyoto, in Higashiyama, Kyoto, on September 5th. The store is managed by Junichi Yamaguchi, a leading barista of the next generation, who was crowned world champion at the "Coffee Fest Latte Art World Championship Open Tokyo 2014" held this year.
Furthermore, at both % Arabica Kyoto and the Hong Kong location, the shops feature integrated accommodation facilities. This initiative, born from a wish to provide young baristas with a space for self-discovery and to broaden their horizons through coffee, includes a working holiday program.
% Arabica's slogan is "See The World Through Coffee." Why not immerse yourself in the world of coffee and its culture at this shop curated by a rising coffee roaster?
