From grape varietals to the bottle, every detail is meticulously crafted
The Italian wine "CANTINE ALIMINI," now arriving in Japan, is a limited production wine created by Ennio Capasa to entertain his guests during his holidays at his villa in Puglia, facing the Adriatic Sea.
A scene from the launch party held at a guesthouse in Nishi-Azabu in late July. On display were 12 paintings from Costume National's art collection, created using various techniques by artists such as Yayoi Kusama (left) and William Kentridge, captivating the guests.
The lineup features two red wines: one made from the Primitivo grape, known for its silky and fruity balance, and another from the Negro Amaro grape, offering a smooth and wild character. Only the highest quality grapes, representing just 30% of the harvest, are used, resulting in a refined taste that conveys the power of the vast, rich land and the freshness of the sea breeze.
Further details reveal Capasa's meticulous attention, from the flamingo label design to the use of a thicker-than-usual bottle, typically found only in prestigious châteaux, to prevent wine degradation.
Scheduled for release around autumn 2014, "CANTINE ALIMINI" will also be available to enjoy at "CoSTUME NATIONAL I WALL," the bar adjacent to the CoSTUME NATIONAL Aoyama flagship store, after its launch.
