Delicate Craftsmanship Reflecting a Female Artist's Sensibility
Born in 1729 as the world's first Champagne house, Ruinart embodies both elegance and contemporary artistry. Since then, through skillful blending of Chardonnay with diverse characteristics and long aging in the ancient underground chalk cellars known as 'crayères,' the house has continued to produce Champagne of pure, elegant taste.
The elegant bottle ornament created for the 'Ruinart Crayères Gift Box' was designed by Scottish artist Georgia Russell. Inspired by the magnificent Ruinart cellars, the crayères, she conceived the design.
The chalk walls of the crayères, ancient limestone quarries, are said to bear intricate patterns etched over centuries. Finding a resonance with her own work in these beautiful markings, Georgia Russell created a bottle ornament with delicate cuttings.
When paired with the pale gold 'Ruinart Blanc de Blancs,' the intricate craftsmanship catches the light, casting a fantastical play of shadows and further enhancing the Champagne's beauty.
