The year 2002 was a celebrated vintage for Champagne. Bollinger has released 'Bollinger R.D. 2002' to commemorate this exceptional year.

Bollinger, founded in 1829, is a prestigious Champagne maison. Through traditional winemaking methods, such as fermentation in oak barrels and long aging in cellars, they have consistently produced high-quality Champagne.

It is also known as a purveyor to the British Royal Family since 1884 and is the Champagne favored by James Bond in the '007' film series.

'Bollinger R.D.' is an 'ultra prestige cuvée' (top-tier line) of vintage Champagne created by the legendary Madame Bollinger, who led the maison in the mid-20th century and contributed to its global expansion. 'Bollinger R.D. 2002' marks a significant milestone, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first R.D. vintage.

'Bollinger R.D.', produced only in exceptional vintages, uses grapes exclusively from the finest Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. It undergoes aging for more than three times the minimum three years required for a vintage Champagne. 'R.D.' stands for 'Récemment Dégorgé' (recently disgorged), meaning it was disgorged very recently. This allows one to savor both the majestic aromas born from extended aging and the vibrant freshness of a newly disgorged Champagne.
