Limited to 1,000 Bottles in Japan, Scheduled for Release This Spring

Since its founding in 1824, The Glenlivet, a single malt whisky loved worldwide, launched a program titled 'The Guardians' Chapter' last September. This unique initiative involved the distillery's Master Distiller, Alan Winchester, creating three new whiskies – 'CLASSIC,' 'REVIVAL,' and 'EXOTIC' – and inviting whisky enthusiasts from around the globe to taste them and select which one would be the next limited edition from The Glenlivet.

Tasting events were held in various regions including Japan, Europe, North America, Oceania, and Asia for whisky enthusiasts. The voting results have now been announced, with the rich and spicy 'EXOTIC' being selected as the next limited edition.

The Guardians' Chapter

In Japan, on September 30th last year, members of The Glenlivet's web community, 'The Glenlivet Guardian Club' (general consumers), were invited to Hotel New Otani Osaka for a tasting of the three whiskies. Pairings with Japanese ingredients were also proposed for each whisky: white bean paste for 'CLASSIC,' water-grown eggplant for 'REVIVAL,' and smoked turnip for 'EXOTIC,' all of which were well-received. Additionally, tasting events were held at bars in Tokyo, Sapporo, and Takamatsu. The results showed 'CLASSIC' receiving 36% of the votes, 'REVIVAL' 21%, and 'EXOTIC' 43%. Similar to the global results, 'EXOTIC' emerged as the most popular choice in Japan.

'EXOTIC' captivates with its rich, warm spiciness, subtly complemented by notes of orange dark chocolate. It is scheduled for release in Japan this spring, with a limited run of 1,000 bottles.
