Andy Warhol Cafe Opens at Roppongi Hills Observatory

Currently,Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Foreverto coincide with the "Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Forever" exhibition at the Mori Art Museum, the first-ever Andy Warhol Cafe in Japan has opened at Roppongi Hills Observatory's Tokyo City View. Until May 6 (Tues/Holiday), visitors can enjoy a menu inspired by Warhol's art.

Warhol's Lost Masterpiece Reappears in Japan After 45 Years

The "Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Forever" exhibition, drawing attention as the largest-ever retrospective of Andy Warhol in Japan, has inspired a cafe where visitors can experience Warhol's world through all five senses.

The venue is the cafe "MADLOUNGE SPICE," located within the observation corridor of "Roppongi Hills Observatory Tokyo City View," offering panoramic views from 250 meters above ground. The space, covered in artificial turf, is adorned with decorations inspired by Warhol's iconic works such as "Cow Wallpaper (Yellow with Pink)" and "Flowers," creating a colorful and open atmosphere.

The menu also heavily reflects Warhol's art. Highlights include a set combining his signature "Campbell's Soup Cans" with a hamburger, a dessert inspired by "Bananas," and a unique parfait modeled after his self-portrait in sunglasses. It's a pop-art world brought to life.

Adjacent to the cafe is "Rain Machine," a work described as a "lost masterpiece," merging photographs of daisies with artificial rain. Originally presented at the American Pavilion of the 1970 Osaka Expo and later discarded due to deterioration, an improved version has been created. After 45 years, it is being exhibited in Japan once again.
