Limited Release of the Fourth Private Edition, "Glenmorangie Elta"
From Glenmorangie, the single malt born in the Scottish Highlands, comes "Elta," the fourth installment in its Private Edition series, available in limited quantities from April. Matured for 19 years in virgin oak casks, its pure flavor promises to be a rare collector's item, obtainable only on this occasion.

Pure Flavor from New Casks
Whisky from Glenmorangie, a Scottish distillery founded in 1843, is known for being matured in the finest oak casks and meticulously finished with skilled craftsmanship. The Private Edition collection, which has become a treasured collector's item since its release, offers a taste of rare casks selected from Dr. Bill Lumsden's "secret cabinet" of inspirations.
Previous releases have included the full-bodied "Sonalta PX," "Finnalta," which recreated an archive recipe from 1903, and "Altain," which was finished in rare Super Tuscan wine casks. These meticulously crafted whiskies have been produced in limited quantities.
The newly added "Elta" to the Private Edition range means "mastery" in Gaelic and is characterized by its maturation in American white oak casks sourced from the Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri. Its taste is described as rounded and complex, with a pure flavor derived from the virgin oak, hinting at notes of vanilla.
Dr. Lumsden commented, "The oak from the Mark Twain National Forest is exceptionally rare, having never been used for maturing spirits like bourbon before. The direct interaction between this virgin oak and Glenmorangie's delicate, floral spirit has created a truly captivating flavor."
"Elta" is named after the national forest that produced the casks and serves as a tribute to Mark Twain, the great American writer from Missouri who had a keen appreciation for Scotch whisky. Through "Elta," one can surely experience the fresh wonder of his masterpiece, "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," and the nostalgic, old America where young Tom Sawyer thrived.
