Perfect for Pairing with Beef

MHD Moët Hennessy Diageo introduces "Terrazas Altos del Plata," a new addition to the Argentine wine "Terrazas" lineup. All "Terrazas" wines are made from grapes cultivated and hand-picked from high-altitude, cool vineyards. They are characterized by a refined taste that enhances the delicacy of the ingredients.

"Terrazas Altos del Plata" originates from the "Cordon del Plata," a mountain in the Andes reaching an impressive altitude of 5,955 meters. This wine is a crystallization of grapes nurtured by the Andes' snowmelt and optimal growing conditions for each varietal, fused with traditional French techniques.

The 2017 vintage is described as having yielded exceptional quality despite low yields. Cool days in spring led to intensely colored, concentrated fruit flavors, while the climate after spring proved ideal for grape growth. This resulted in well-ripened tannins and grapes with a balanced profile of fruitiness and acidity.

Argentina is one of the world's leading beef consumers. Wine and beef are deeply ingrained in its food culture and are consumed daily. "Terrazas Altos del Plata" enhances the flavor of meat, making it a perfect pairing with beef.

The lineup includes three varieties: "Malbec," "Chardonnay," and "Cabernet Sauvignon."

The "Malbec," with its subtly purplish deep red hue, is characterized by fruity and expressive aromas. Sweet tannins create a well-defined core of flavor. Notes of black fruit and chocolate linger on the finish. Recommended pairing is with red meat. Its fruity character enhances the savory notes with each bite.

The "Chardonnay," a pale yellow with greenish tints, offers fruity aromas and a floral scent reminiscent of jasmine. It concludes with a refreshing, subtly citrus-like refined taste. Recommended pairing is with fatty cuts. The marbling of wagyu beef harmonizes with nutty notes, while its crispness cuts through the richness.

The "Cabernet Sauvignon," a deep red with garnet tones, presents a complex bouquet of cassis, fig jam, and spices. It offers a taste of fruitiness, dark chocolate-like sweetness, and spiciness. Recommended pairing is with well-grilled meat. Its complexity creates a harmony that complements the juices of grilled kalbi, elegantly highlighting its wild character.

These refined wines, designed to enhance the flavor of beef through pairings with different cuts, are sure to elevate your home yakiniku experience.
