EAT: Krug Clos d'Ambonnay 1998, a Vintage Champagne

Krug's Emblematic Single-Plot Pinot Noir Blossoms

KRUG CLOS D'AMBONNAY 1998

Clos d'Ambonnay──Nestled at the edge of Ambonnay village, a renowned Pinot Noir appellation in the southeastern foothills of the Montagne de Reims, lies a small, garden-like vineyard of just 0.68 hectares. From this single plot, using only Pinot Noir grapes harvested in a single year, comes the rare champagne "KRUG CLOS D'AMBONNAY 1998."

A Vineyard Cherished Like a Jewel Box

The Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, a veritable treasure, was discreetly produced by Henri Krug and Rémi Krug, the fifth generation of Krug's leadership.

Its first vintage, 1995, was unveiled in 2007, earning high praise as a masterpiece meticulously crafted to its ultimate potential over time.

Krug's exceptional savoir-faire reveals the richness and allure of the grapes, while over a decade of aging in the cellar enhances its delicacy and elegance. A rare exception within Krug's celebrated art of assemblage, this "Krug Clos d'Ambonnay" finally presents its 1998 vintage after a long maturation since harvest.
