A Champagne House with Over 380 Years of History
The history of Henri Giraud began in 1625 when founder François Émard acquired vineyards in the village of Aÿ in the Champagne region. All the vineyards in Aÿ are Pinot Noir, certified Grand Cru. The house owns eight hectares of its own vineyards.
The Champagne, born from high-quality grapes, a traditional method still rigorously preserved, and innovative techniques, has been favored by European upper classes in places like the UK and Monaco, gracing countless splendid banquets.
Then, the 12th generation head, Claude Giraud, released the 1990 "Fût de Chêne," fermented and aged in oak barrels, successfully bringing Henri Giraud's name to prominence. Due to its dedication and quality, Henri Giraud is now highly regarded as one of the top houses.
"Code Noir" Dressed in a Beautiful Gown
The "La Petite Robe Noire Box by Didier Ludot & Champagne Henri Giraud" is now available in a limited quantity. It is a collaboration between Henri Giraud's Pinot Noir and Didier Ludot, the owner of the haute couture vintage shop "Didier Ludot" in Paris and the designer of "La Petite Robe Noire."
Didier Ludot, born in 1951, began his vintage dress collection with a gown worn by Édith Piaf and the first black dress Chanel presented in 1927. His shop in the Palais-Royal displays haute couture dresses from luxury brands, valued as works of art.
This limited edition item features "Henri Giraud CODE NOIR," a Blanc de Noirs (Champagne made exclusively from black grapes) crafted solely from "Petit Doré," an indigenous grape variety of Aÿ and a subspecies of Pinot Noir. It arrives adorned in a dress by Didier Ludot. The set includes two flute glasses designed by Félix Ludot and a silk hat box (with a red suede tray), all housed within a box that doubles as a Champagne cooler.
