Luxurious Pajamas Crafted from Exquisite Silk, Artistic and Sumptuous

Peter Schlesinger was born in Los Angeles in 1948. After a career as a painter, he transitioned to ceramics and sculpture. For 28 years, he has focused on creating organic forms, characterized by abstract shapes and patterns influenced by his painting background. This project was initiated with him, Acne Studios' Art Director Jonny Johansson, and Peter's partner of 40 years, photographer Eric Boman.

The limited edition book features over 150 artworks created by Peter Schlesinger from 1980 to the present. It is produced in Sweden, using Japanese paper and a rustic fabric with a unique texture for the cover.

The exclusive "Pajama" collection, launched concurrently, was born from Peter Schlesinger's fondness for this garment. Designed by Jonny Johansson based on prints created by Schlesinger, the pieces are tailored from exquisite silk. The color palette draws inspiration from the "ceramic glazes" seen in his artwork.

Peter Schlesinger commented: "Through this collaboration, I found inspiration in many ways. His free spirit opened up possibilities and directions I might not have discovered otherwise. That, I feel, is the most abundant creativity."

Jonny Johansson, who admires Schlesinger's work for its coexistence of tribal and elegant, historical and modern, and cruel and fragile elements, stated: "Peter is a good friend, and I have long been captivated by his creations. I am delighted to be able to showcase his ceramic works through this project."

The limited edition art book and pajama capsule collection are available exclusively at six Acne Studios stores worldwide. In Japan, they will be handled at the Aoyama flagship store.
