The book "Ouchi de Tsukurareru Rōro Kissa Sweets" (World Culture Publishing), which carefully explains the recipes from long-established cafes, even for those who aren't particularly fond of sweets, was released on January 19th (Monday).

Sweets from long-established shops, loved for many years, drawing crowds from all over the country for their taste. The book features signature items that everyone knows, even if they aren't sweets enthusiasts, such as Shiseido Parlour's (Ginza) "Purin à la Mode," Mampei Hotel's (Karuizawa) and Fujiya Hotel's (Hakone) "Apple Pie," and Yoku Moku's (Aoyama) "Minami Aoyama Roll."

The most distinctive feature of this book is that it's not food experts who have researched and recreated the same taste, but the chefs from the featured long-established restaurants themselves who teach the methods. In other words, it's the 'authentic' way. Some of these recipes were once closely guarded secrets, but the chefs meticulously explain their secret techniques with photographs, making it possible for even novice bakers to recreate those beloved flavors.



The supervisor, Mr. Mitsuharu Yamamura, worked as a contract writer for "Olive" magazine before establishing his personal office, "BOOKLUCK," which plans, directs, and writes for books, magazines, and advertisements on themes such as cafes, interiors, miscellaneous goods, and design. He is the author of "Atarashii Kyōkasho 01 Zakka" (Petit Grand Publishing) and "Cafe no Hanashi." (Aspect, co-authored).
