A Picture Book Tracing the Life of Monet, the "Painter of Light"
How did that artist paint, and what kind of house did they live in? The "Story Picture Book" series gently unravels the lives of artists based on historical facts. Following the first volume, "I am Johannes Vermeer," the second volume, "I am Claude Monet," has now been released.

An Ideal Introduction to Art for Adults Too
Claude Monet, who achieved a revolution in painting known as Impressionism. For 70 years, he created numerous paintings filled with light, such as water lilies and poplar trees, yet his life remains largely unknown. In his middle school years, he was already famous for his artistic talent. In his early days as a painter, his work was not readily accepted, and he struggled with poverty. However, he never once stopped painting.—.
This picture book traces the 86-year life of Claude Monet through vibrant watercolor illustrations and gentle, narrative prose.
Additionally, the book includes a "Works Gallery" featuring carefully selected pieces from Monet's over 2,500 works, a "Monet's France Map" showing places he frequented, and "Friends and Keywords" detailing his interactions with other Impressionist painters, all included at the end.
The narrative is accessible and the content is rich. It is a recommended book not only for children but also for adults who wish to learn about Monet.
Furthermore, Monet's works are currently on display in Japan at "The Musée d'Orsay Exhibition" (until October 20) and "The Kunsthaus Zürich Exhibition" (until December 25), both held at The National Art Center, Tokyo. Visitors can admire pieces such as "Luncheon on the Grass" and "Water Lilies, Evening" at these exhibitions.
