Gojyuichi-bu Curates the Book Selections at Andaz Tokyo

Opened this June within the new landmark, Toranomon Hills,Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hillsis a lifestyle hotel by the Hyatt Group. The book curation for this hotel was handled by the architectural design firm that offers total space proposals,Gojyuichi-bu.

The Theme for the Book Selections: "Tokyo & Japan"

Andaz, meaning "personal style" in Hindi, opened its first hotel in London in 2007. Andaz Tokyo, the 12th Andaz property, occupies six floors from the 47th to the 52nd floor of Toranomon Hills. Floors 47 through 50 house guest rooms, while the 51st floor features the main dining restaurant, Andaz Tavern. The restaurant area, including the bar and lounge, offers an open space with a partial double-height ceiling extending to the rooftop.

The architectural design firm Gojyuichi-bu was responsible for selecting the books for the Andaz Lounge on the 51st floor and the eight suites. Mr. Tetsuo Miura, director of the firm, has previously curated book selections for Grand Hyatt Tokyo and Park Hyatt Shanghai.

Mr. Miura commented, "The theme requested by Andaz was 'Tokyo & Japan.' We curated categories such as architecture, interior design, art, and culture, primarily using Western books and antique volumes sourced from our showroom in Jinbocho. Through these original selections, we aim to express 'TOKYO・JAPAN' for our sophisticated global guests."
