The "Very Moment" Woven Through Nostalgic Polaroid Photographs

Jorgen Axelvall, a photographer from Sweden, is active in the fields of artist portraits, magazines, and advertising. He moved to the US in 1996 and studied under Ellen von Unwerth and Mary Ellen Mark, among others. In 2011, he began working based in Japan. Last year, he won the international division of the photography contest 'NEW EXPOSURE' held in New York, and further success is anticipated.

This art project, 'INSTANT MOMENTS,' condenses Axelvall's fifteen years of life in New York before he moved to Japan. The unvarnished, authentic moments with friends spent in Brooklyn, a hub for artists, are captured in Polaroid photographs. Alongside the book's release, an exhibition was held at 'IDOL' in Minami-Aoyama. Jorgen Axelvall himself served as curator and conceived the exhibition space setup. Additionally, a live performance by DJ Nikfit (Niklas Moller) and a video created by Jorgen Axelvall were presented at the opening reception. The event can be viewed in the video below.

Unforgettable memories of everyday life, woven through nostalgic Polaroid photographs. Based on the background and stories behind Axelvall's work, art director Tetsuya Chihara's free creativity has been incorporated as design, resulting in a volume that captures "the very moment," true to its title.
