"City Guides": Capturing Cities Through the Lens of Louis Vuitton

Gaston-Louis Vuitton, grandson of Louis Vuitton, was an avid bibliophile and collector. His interests spanned a wide range, from literature to art, acquiring knowledge from books on all subjects.
This passion is reflected in the Maison itself, with Louis Vuitton having produced its own publications for nearly 20 years.
The "City Guides" introduce the charm of various cities with a unique worldview, presented through the perspectives of journalists and guest contributors from diverse fields.
The content is designed to satisfy not only business travelers but also residents, offering insights from travel experts who know each city intimately.
Each guide features an exhaustive array of spots: historic landmarks, boutique hotels, gourmet restaurants and local bistros, markets and épiceries popular with locals, antique shops, museums, boutiques, and even hidden gems.
This year sees updated editions for Beijing, Lisbon, London, Moscow, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo, and Paris, each brimming with fresh perspectives to inspire your travels.
The guest contributors have also been updated. Paris is featured by interior designer and architect François-Joseph Graf. New York is presented by actress and singer Sophie Calle. Architects Alexei Ginzburg and Kengo Kuma offer their insights on Moscow and Tokyo, respectively.
The sophisticated writing, penned by intellectuals with a playful spirit, and the city photographs, specially commissioned by renowned photographers for Louis Vuitton, elegantly convey the allure of each location.
Digital editions are also available. The mobile application, compatible with iPhone and iPad, covers each city extensively, with hundreds of locations updated regularly.

Furthermore, through Apple TV, which offers various video programs, and the Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon connected watch, adapted with "Around Me" and "24 Hours" functions, the "City Guides" utilize every tool to enrich the traveler's experience.

This is the ultimate expression of Louis Vuitton's pursuit of the essence of travel – the "City Guide."

"Fashion Eye": Photography Books Focusing on Japan and the Orient Express

Louis Vuitton's "Fashion Eye" is a series of photography books.
The choice of paper, binding, layout, and even printing processes vary, adhering to traditional craftsmanship. This reflects the Maison's philosophy that each book is a "work" created by the author, designer, and printer.
The subjects range from urban panoramas and natural landscapes to intimate glimpses of local life, captured in both color and monochrome. It is a photo album series that holds significant meaning from both an artistic and conceptual standpoint, juxtaposing contemporary creations with lesser-known historical heritage.
In July, "Fashion Eye French Riviera" and "Fashion Eye Saint-Tropez" were released during the Rencontres d'Arles photography festival.
Coinciding with the Paris Photo international art fair, "Fashion Eye Japan" and "Fashion Eye Orient Express" have now joined the series.
Each volume illuminates a country, region, or city through the lens of a fashion photographer.
Baron Adolphe de Meyer, a Parisian considered the first great fashion photographer, captured Japan in the early 1900s.

This photo book illuminates the spirit of Japan as it opened its doors to the West, offering a glimpse into the culture and society of that era.
French artist Sarah Moon, renowned for her unique style and creativity, brings the legendary Orient Express back to life.

She deeply contemplates the passage of time, rediscovering the enchanting beauty of the Orient Express without disregarding its inherent narrative.
This photo album series holds significant meaning from both an artistic and conceptual standpoint, juxtaposing contemporary creations with lesser-known historical heritage.
