Second Book Focusing on the Production Site Released
Three years have passed since the publication of "nendo ghost stories," a book that focused on the production sites of the design office "nendo" led by Oki Sato, capturing the precious behind-the-scenes world where creations are spun. Now, "nendo ghost shadows," which delves into nendo from 2010 to 2013, has been released on October 15 (Tuesday). The little-known facets of nendo, which receives global acclaim, are once again revealed through the beautiful photography of Kenichi Higuchi.

"nendo ghost stories," published in 2010, was a groundbreaking volume documenting the background of nendo's experimentation and innovation over approximately three years. The beautiful photographs, which captured even the flowing air within their frames, captivated not only design enthusiasts but also many others. The second installment, "nendo ghost shadows," is a photo collection that explores nendo from 2010-2013. Moving between the Meguro office, factories, and international exhibition venues in London, Milan, and NY, it features not only finished products and exhibition scenes but also prototypes, packaging, and the surrounding scenery during preparation.
The design of this book was handled by Nobuo Yamada (CENTRAL PARK), who has orchestrated the time shared by nendo and Higuchi over three years with beautiful design. The separate booklet includes the interview "Continuously Growing Design, Softly" with Oki Sato, and the dialogue "Observing nendo and Following Its Thoughts" between Oki Sato and Kenichi Higuchi. This book is filled with many highlights, and we highly recommend it.
