Lina Scheynius's Latest Photobook '05'
Lina Scheynius, the Swedish photographer with the unconventional background as a former supermodel, has self-published '05', her fifth photobook, in a limited edition of 1,000 copies. To celebrate its completion, a store exhibition is being held at Cottage by Optimum, Minami-Aoyama, until October 14th (Monday).

Fleeting Everyday Moments and Self-Portraits Emerge
Born in 1981, Lina Scheynius rose to prominence as one of Sweden's leading supermodels, gracing numerous runways before transitioning to photography. She began teaching herself photography in her teens and has steadily built her career, shooting for magazines and contributing a photo column to a German weekly newspaper.
Now, her fifth photobook, '05', is complete. Comprising images of casual everyday life, including moments with friends and lovers, alongside self-portraits, it is a rare edition of only 1,000 copies, self-published and each signed and numbered.
The store exhibition at Cottage by Optimum, held to commemorate the completion of this photobook, also features all her previous photobooks, '01' through '04', which are now difficult to obtain. Additionally, original prints created in a limited edition of 100 copies for her solo exhibition in Switzerland will be on display and available for purchase exclusively during this exhibition period.
'05' captures Scheynius's 'now' through sensitive photographs that seem to reflect the folds of the heart. This exhibition, alongside the store event, offers a rare opportunity to engage with the work of an artist whose future endeavors promise even greater things.
Lina Scheynius
Born in 1981, based in London. After a career as a leading Swedish supermodel, she transitioned to photography. She primarily works with publications such as 'Another Magazine', 'Dazed & Confused', and 'Vogue'. She also took over the photo column from Juergen Teller for the German weekly newspaper 'Die Zeit', a role she held for one year. Her first solo exhibition in Europe is currently underway at the Christophe Guye Galerie in Switzerland.
