Sayo Nagase was born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1978. She is actively working both in Japan and abroad, and is highly regarded internationally, having been featured in a Canadian art magazine during her production process. In 2011, she published the photo book "Asphalt & Chalk" with Libraryman, a Stockholm-based publisher in Sweden. The release of her second photo book has now been decided.
This, her fifth book, was shot over two years in Waikiki, Hawaii, the outskirts of Tokyo, and the city center. Using a single female model, the book weaves together the fake and the real, evoking individual stories from viewers in various situations.
Furthermore, an exhibition to commemorate the completion of the photo book will be held at AL in Ebisu from Saturday, October 26th to Sunday, November 17th. Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of "PINK LEMONADE."
"PINK LEMONADE," with its unique atmosphere blending innocence and punk, quietly resonates with the viewer. What stories will we weave from this photobook? We invite you to engage in a dialogue with the work.
