Approximately 50 Visually Driven Books on Display and For Sale
POST aims to allow customers to enjoy books while appreciating the distinct vision and world of each publisher, which is often overlooked in typical bookstores. To date, they have introduced publishers from around the globe, highlighting those with a meticulous approach to both content and design. This time, they spotlight Nazraeli Press, based in Portland, Oregon, which focuses on artists selected for their aesthetic sensibility, publishing limited editions of 500 to 2,000 copies.
Nazraeli Press was founded in Munich, Germany, in 1989 and relocated to the United States in 1997. It has since published over 400 art books, with a strong emphasis on contemporary photography. While its catalog includes renowned photographers such as Robert Adams, it is also notable for featuring many Japanese photographers, including Naoya Hatakeyama and Risaku Suzuki.
Their books are characterized by elegant and striking designs, employing unique materials such as paper, wood, plastic, and metal. They meticulously craft each volume, incorporating handcrafted elements into mass-produced objects.
The store features approximately 50 titles, primarily large-format books with dynamic visuals. It's an opportunity to physically engage with the beautifully produced, high-quality photography books from a publisher long-revered among those with a deep appreciation for the medium.
