On April 27, 2019, Artek Tokyo Store, Artek's first directly managed store in Japan, opened in Omotesando.

A highlight is the special collection "FIN/JPN Friendship Collection" series, launched to celebrate the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Finland and Japan, which was just announced at Milan Design Week 2019.



One item within this collection is the book "Fragments of Aalto," created in collaboration with fashion and textile designer Akira Minagawa. Minagawa extracted iconic elements from architecture and products designed by the Aaltos, reinterpreting their imagery to develop his own unique drawings.

This precious volume, which expresses the rich imaginative world he creates and the world of the Aaltos, along with their shared passion for craftsmanship, is something you'll want to experience firsthand at the store.
