A Photobook to Be Savored with Torahiko's Story

『Mountain Photographer “Torahiko” Torahiko』 is a photobook by Takashi Homma, yet it is presented as if shot by the enigmatic figure “Torahiko.” The book unfolds a narrative centered around this mysterious individual.

Torahiko, encountered at a mountain hot spring, possessed a presence as vast as the mountains themselves. He had once shot fashion photography in Tokyo but grew disillusioned and turned to capturing mountain landscapes. A single excursion into the mountains with him was followed by a complete loss of contact. As seasons turned, one winter day, a slightly soiled envelope appeared in the post. Scrawled simply as “Torahiko” on the back, it contained eighteen small, grainy prints.

This book is the culmination of transforming his photographs into a cohesive collection. Within its pages, snow-covered vistas, captured on silver halide film, offer a view of majestic winter mountains, enhanced by a unique photographic approach.

Immerse yourself in the beautiful natural world as seen through the lens of “Torahiko,” a man of imposing stature and captivating mystique. We invite you to turn the pages and enjoy the accompanying narrative.
