Limited Japanese Release of 2,500 Copies

In June of this year, Rintaro Tanaka released "My Freedom! Vol. 10," the tenth and final installment in his "My Freedom!" series of vintage fashion books. Six months later, he has partnered with Schott and its official Japanese distributor, Ueno Shokai, to present "Schott: 100 Years of an American Original." This book delves into the 100-year history of Schott, with a limited release of 2,500 copies in Japan and 6,000 worldwide.

Schott was founded in New York in 1913. The brand has produced numerous iconic pieces, including the "black tag Perfecto" jacket coat from the 1930s to 1950s, highly sought after by vintage enthusiasts.

This book features approximately 130 vintage items produced by Schott between 1930 and 2012. It also includes rare pre-war photographs of Schott, long shrouded in mystery, and detailed explanations of the "One Star" model, which gained global recognition through the film "The Wild One."

Furthermore, the book details the diverse models of Perfecto that captivated street kids worldwide from the 1970s onwards through punk, new wave, and early hip-hop, along with the "relationship between Schott and the punk movement." Across 162 pages, it chronicles the complete history of Schott's journey alongside the leather jacket.

Tanaka himself vouches for "Schott: 100 Years of an American Original," stating, "I believe this book will be a joy for vintage leather enthusiasts to rediscover their favorite leather jackets." We highly recommend acquiring this "100% Schott book," a coveted item with only 6,000 copies available worldwide.
