Since its birth in 1993, PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE has explored the concept of "clothing as product," undertaking extensive research and developing innovative materials and design techniques. This book traces the brand's history and delves into its essence.PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKETo celebrate its publication by TASCHEN, an event will be held at Daikanyama T-Site starting December 1st (Saturday).

Special Exhibition of Yuriko Takagi's "Travelling Photo Prints 2012"

From 1995 to 1999, photographer Yuriko Takagi embarked on a journey through India, Kenya, China, and Morocco, packing PLEATS PLEASE garments as part of her project "Pleats Please Travel Through the Planet by Yuriko Takagi." Fourteen selected prints from this series, transferred onto PLEATS PLEASE fabric, will be exhibited and available for purchase. These photographs are featured in the eighth chapter of "PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE."

Yuriko Takagi Discusses "Pleats Please Travel Through the Planet by Yuriko Takagi"
Takagi, who photographed people from various regions wearing PLEATS PLEASE, will share anecdotes from her travels, discussing this garment that transcends borders and ethnicities, worn by people of all ages and backgrounds.

Special Sale
A limited edition sale of Yuriko Takagi's fabric photo works will be held, with each piece priced at ¥157,500 and available in a limited run of three per artwork. Additionally, original items (stoles, book covers, tote bags) produced by PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE for this event will be available. The "Madame T" stole is a special version featuring Takagi's photographs printed on it.
