Features Numerous Photographs by Renowned Surf Photographers
The photography collection "SWELL -a year of waves-" captures the expressions of waves forming at iconic surf spots like Oahu's Pipeline and California's Mavericks, places revered by surfers worldwide. The long-awaited Japanese edition was released in June 2016.
It introduces the paths of "swell" across the North Pacific, South Indian Ocean, South Pacific, and Atlantic Ocean, categorized by oceanic region, along with their associated meteorological phenomena.

The collection features 155 moments captured, from the raw, powerful swells born from storms to the gentle, small waves lapping the shore. Renowned surf photographers participated in the shoot, including Hawaiian surfer and photographer Clark Little, and Morgan Maassen, who, despite being in his mid-twenties, has achieved global recognition.
Humans cannot control the waves. This is precisely what makes them so captivating, according to author Evan Slater. He further stated, "Not a single wave has ever been exactly the same. The unique creations of wind and water find their own paths to shore. This repeats every second, eventually becoming eternal."
"SWELL -a year of waves-" focuses on all types of waves, from the large, rough ones that easily engulf surfers to harmless, toy-like waves. This book allows you to appreciate photographs that capture the ever-changing expressions of waves, influenced by region, season, and climate, with a delicate sensibility.
